Shanan’s parents relocated from California when she was in grade school and purchased a ranch just outside of Durango. Growing up, Shanan spent a lot of time around horses, riding and showing. The name for her gallery, Sorrel Sky Gallery, was inspired by her favorite horse, a sorrel mare named "Missy." Additionally, Shanan’s father is an artist, so she had the privilege of being exposed to artists and art from a young age. She went to Fort Lewis and although she moved back east for a time, she returned to Durango to start her own family.
Shanan has two wonderful sons named Luke, who is 24, and Saylor, who is 22. They grew up surrounded by art in the gallery, and now they are pursuing their own passions. Luke lives in New York City and works in the jewelry industry, while Saylor resides in Denver and works in real estate. She is incredibly proud of both of them!
Shanan has always been passionate about art and the art business. From a young age, she dreamed of owning her own art gallery. Prior to opening Sorrel Sky Gallery and her art consulting firm, Shanan Campbell Art Consulting, in 2002, Shanan managed other galleries, scouted art for the Franklin Mint, and worked for the Smithsonian Institution. Working with talented artists and inspired clients is a dream come true, and she feels incredibly lucky to have the best job in the world.
Shanan absolutely loves to travel! She has a trip to Italy planned for next month. However, she is also grateful to live in such a beautiful area as Durango, and she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, running, and practicing yoga. Additionally, Shanan recently adopted a puppy, which has kept her quite busy.
Shanan loves everything that she tries on from Lively!
